Typosquatting Scanner
The Typosquatting Scanner detects domains that could be impersonating your brand by generating common typo variations and checking which ones are actually registered.
How to use it?
Enter a domain name (e.g. apple.com, paypal.com) and run the search. You can try a sample query to see the results.
The tool generates potential typosquatting domains and checks their registration status. For each match, you'll see the registrar, creation date, IP, and a risk level.
What kind of typos are detected?
| Technique | Description | Example (apple.com) |
|---|---|---|
| Homoglyph | Visually similar characters (e.g. l → 1, o → 0) | app1e.com |
| Character swap | Two adjacent characters swapped | aplpe.com |
| Missing character | One character removed | aple.com |
| Extra character | One character added | appple.com |
| Double letter | A letter duplicated | applee.com |
| Wrong TLD | Different top-level domain | apple.net |
| Hyphen | A hyphen inserted | app-le.com |
| Subdomain trick | Domain disguised as a subdomain | apple.com.fake.com |
Risk levels
Each detected domain gets a risk level:
- Critical: the domain is registered, recently created, and has active content.
- High: the domain is registered and has active content.
- Medium: the domain is registered but no active content was detected.
- Low: the domain is registered with minimal indicators.
