Usage statistics

When you use Profundis, we receive information that you may find sensitive. We try to be as transparent as possible on how this data is used and processed.

How does Profundis use my search queries?

When you access profundis.io, your traffic may go through a WAF / CDN (currently Cloudflare) which will analyze it to detect and block any malicious behavior.

For security purposes, the requests received by our services (containing your IP address and user agent) are logged and kept for up to 1 year. They are used to generate anonymous usage statistics only on the field names you queried, and NOT on the data you searched for in these fields. E.g. if you searched for host: test.com, we only create statistics based on the fact you used the host field, and not that you queried test.com. These statistics allows us to know which fields are the most queried and how long it took to retrieve the data. We then use it to optimize the search engine and make it more efficient.

Perspective Analytics, editor of Profundis

  • Does NOT sell the content of your search queries or share it with any external entity / company other than the WAF / CDN provider.
  • Does NOT perform any further analysis on your search query content (except to send you back your query results).
  • Does NOT include any other personal information (email, name, phone number) in the search query logs.

If we detect that you attempt to bypass any security protection in place (e.g. malicious payload injection, etc), you will be automatically blocked.
