Quotas
How are my quotas managed?
Web UI searches
Every time you run a search in the UI, your quota is affected. For instance, running a hosts or DNS search will:
- Increase both your daily and monthly search quota usage by 1.
- Increase both your daily and monthly results quota usage by the number of results returned by the query.
When you run a hosts or DNS search, you can choose the maximum number of results returned by your query among 3 options: 10, 30 or 50. Your results quota usage will increase by at most this value (i.e., if you select a maximum of 50 results, your quota usage won't increase by more than 50, even if more results are available).
Some tools like the IP history lookup currently return a fixed maximum of 30 results. More generally, the tools also impact your quota similarly to the Hosts and DNS searches.
We are aware that the hosts search may sometimes contain false positive results (e.g. port detected as open) when the host is located behind a CDN. You will notice that these results do not impact your results quota. Your results are also cached for up to 1h so that if you run 2 times the same query in a short period of time, your quota doesn't increase.
API requests
The way API requests impact the quotas is similar to the web UI, except for the subdomain enumeration API requests, which impact a dedicated monthly quota.
Each subdomain enumeration request will
- Increase the queries quota count by one.
- Increment the subdomain enumeration quota by the number of returned results.
Alerts
The alerts you receive do not impact your daily and monthly quotas. You can receive an unlimited number of alerts as long as you stay within the alerts rate (number of alerts sent per hour) of your subscription plan.
When are the quotas reset?
The daily quotas are reset at 00:00 UTC. The monthly quotas are reset on the 1st of the month at 00:00 UTC. These settings apply to everyone and cannot be changed.
How to get more quotas?
You can upgrade to a higher subscription plan.
